Petrol pump owner’s bank account attached

Chandigarh: The UT Excise and Taxation Department has attached the bank account of owners of a petrol pump, Brahamswarup and Sons, in Sector 28 here after it failed to deposit Rs 1.85 crore tax, which was pending against it for years.

Chandigarh: The UT Excise and Taxation Department has attached the bank account of owners of a petrol pump, Brahamswarup and Sons, in Sector 28 here after it failed to deposit Rs 1.85 crore tax, which was pending against it for years. Sources said the department had also started the process to attach a showroom of the petrol pump owners in Sector 26. A letter to the Estate Office has also been sent to stop further transfer or sale of the property. The Excise and Taxation Officer has issued the order for the attachment under the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887, on the direction of Jatinder Yadav, Excise and Taxation Commissioner. — TNS
