Patiala, February 21

Punjabi University Vice-Chancellor Prof BS Ghuman today met the agitating students of five-year integrated course in economics and discussed the problems being faced by them.

The students were agitating against the university alleging that the university was charging them for a professional course whereas their five-year course was equivalent to a normal bachelor’s and master’s course.

They further alleged that their course, which started in session 2014-15, was not recognised by the University Grants Commission, which is a threat to the future of students.

Prof Ghuman assured them that they would not face any problem at any stage as far as nomenclature of their courses was concerned. — TNS
