Pbi varsity to start UGC’s online courses

PATIALA:The Academic Council of Punjabi University has given nod to begin Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) under SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning by Young Aspiring Minds).

The Academic Council of Punjabi University has given nod to begin Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) under SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning by Young Aspiring Minds). These courses will be for undergraduate and postgraduate courses being run on the university campus, affiliated colleges and neighborhood campuses.

During a meeting of the Academic Council on Friday, the authorities decided to begin the courses as mandated by the University Grants Commission-Ministry of Human Resource Department (UGC-MHRD).

VC BS Ghuman said, “Punjabi University has achieved the unique distinction of becoming the first university in the region to adopt MOOCs.”— TNS
