Patiala girls steamroll Himachal

Hockey Patiala steamrolled Hockey Himachal to win their second successive match in the 9th Hockey India Junior National Hockey Championship 2019 for Women (B Division) in Kollam, Kerala, on Thursday. Patiala girls won 18-0.  

Gurmail Kaur (12th, 16th, 29th, 51st), captain Navjot Kaur (17th, 38th, 52nd, 56th) and Kiran Kaur (35th, 42nd, 54th, 58th) scored four goals each, while Simran Kaur (34th, 42nd) struck twice for Patiala. 

Komalpreet Kaur (14th), Suman Kumatri (26th), Jotika Kalsi (31st) and Taranpreet Kaur (36th) scored a goal each for the side.  

In another Pool C match, Hockey Rajasthan drubbed Hockey Madhya Bharat 6-1. Reena Saini (11th, 12th, 44th) scored a hat-trick for Rajasthan, while Komal Bharti (10th, 60th) scored a brace. Pooja Meena (27th) added one goal to Rajasthan tally. 

Rajani Waskale (51st) was the lone scorer Hockey Madhya Bharat.

Khushboo Prajapati, meanwhile, scored six goals to help Assam Hockey defeat Hockey Jammu & Kashmir 12-0. Khushboo struck in the 6th, 25th, 33rd, 39th, 53rd and 55th minutes.  

Munmuni Das (13th, 47th, 56th, 60th) and Soropina Tigga (23rd, 59th) were the other goal scorers for Assam.

Bhopal beat Goa

Earlier, Hockey Bhopal defeated Goans Hockey 10-1 to win their second consecutive match in Group A.

Lalchenbi Khundrakpam (26th, 30th, 43rd, 59th), Meenu Rani (6th, 53rd), Lanleibi Chanu Khundrakpam (9th), Vartika Rawat (33rd), Neha (37th) and Shaheen Khan (41st) scored for Bhopal, while Anoshka D’Souza (27th) scored the consolation goal for Goans Hockey.

In the other Pool A match, Bengal Hockey Association registered a 4-1 win over Hockey Madhya Pradesh. 

All the four goals for Bengal Hockey Association were scored by Sathi Dolui (15th, 52th, 54th, 60th) while Priyanka Thakur (51st) scored the only goal for Madhya Pradesh.

In Pool B, Bengaluru Hockey Association trounced Hockey Puducherry 5-0. Kaveri Lekannavar (12th, 44th) scored a brace, while Padmavathi S Madli (38th), Aishwarya Nagavi (51st) and Aishwarya Kalli (54th) added a goal each to the Bengaluru tally.
