Over 1,000 PGI employees to get dress allowance

CHANDIGARH: More than 1,000 Group B employees of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) will get Rs 5,000 each per annum as dress allowance.

More than 1,000 Group B employees of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) will get Rs 5,000 each per annum as dress allowance.

The hospital administration has decided to provide dress allowance of Rs 5,000 per annum to the paramedical staff wearing apron/coat on a par with AIIMS, Delhi, in view of the repeated requests made by the employee.

Welcoming the decision, members of the PGI Employees Union (Non-Faculty) and Medical Technologists Association said their other demands such as implementation of grant of GP Rs 4,600 to medical technologists, cadre review, restoration of more than 400 posts abolished by the Coordination Committee, continuing meeting of high-powered committee, filling up of promotional and direct recruitments posts, removal of pay anomaly of sanitation attendant, hospital attendants, medical technologists, etc., were still pending.
