Chandigarh, October 16

The Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) and its sister laboratory Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIO) today jointly organised an outreach programme for promotion of the India International Science Festival (IISF)-2019, which is being organised in Kolkata from November 5-8.

Being projected as the biggest conglomeration of scientists, students, researchers and entrepreneurs, the IISF is expected to have more than 12,000 participants from India and abroad who will be engaged in over two dozen scientific and frugal innovation related events.

Addressing the gathering, Jayant Sahasrabudhe, national organising secretary, Vijnana Bharti, emphasised on such events, which celebrate science and help to induct a scientific temper among the youth of the country. In his outreach lecture, he stressed that such events helped science reach out to the masses, which was the biggest challenge in a diverse country like India. — TNS
