One flight cancelled, 10 delayed

A day after restrictions over Delhi airspace in the wake of Republic Day celebrations were lifted, flight operations at the Chandigarh International Airport continued to be disrupted as one flight was cancelled and ten were delayed due to fog.

AI flight 6E 545/455 to Delhi, which arrives at 7.30 am, was grounded. Alliance Air’s Delhi-bound flight (9 I 831/832), the first to arrive at the airport at 6.55 am, was delayed by 7 hours and 45 minutes. The flight was temporarily suspended in the winter season and resumed operations today.

Flight operations between Delhi and Chandigarh were worse affected with seven flights delayed. Four flights were late by more than two hours. Sources said several flights were delayed at the Delhi airport due to fog. The delayed flights included four from Jet Airways, two from Spicejet, one IndiGo and three Air India flights.—TNS
