Officials check onion stock at Sec 45 mandi

Chandigarh: The Department of Food & Supplies, UT, continued its onion stock-checking drive in the city today. A team of inspectors Neeraj Ghai, Manish Sawhney and Tarun Narula visited Apni Mandi in Sector 45-D under the supervision of District Food Supplies Officer Ashok Kumar.

The Department of Food & Supplies, UT, continued its onion stock-checking drive in the city today. A team of inspectors Neeraj Ghai, Manish Sawhney and Tarun Narula visited Apni Mandi in Sector 45-D under the supervision of District Food Supplies Officer Ashok Kumar. The team checked the stock. Onions were being sold at Rs 90-100 per kg. 

The retailers were asked to maintain the stock of onion i.e. 50 quintal for retailers, as per the notification issued by the UT on December 6. — TNS


Road to be closed

Chandigarh: Due to repair work of a sewer pipe, the road leading from the Sector 33/34/44/45 rotary towards the Sector 33/45 light point will be closed for around 20 days. To avoid any inconvenience, commuters have been advised to take alternative routes. Police officials said traffic cops would also be deployed at the nearest intersection to regulate the traffic. TNS
