Chandigarh, August 30

For the first time, Chandigarh Industrial Tourism Development Corporation Limited (CITCO) has roped in online food delivery companies like Zomato and Swiggy, to increase its revenue. Facing tough competition from hotels in the city, CITCO decided to provide its recipes to the residents on the doorstep. Residents can now order Hotel Parkview food on Zomato.

CITCO is running three major hotels in the city — Mountview at Sector 10, Shivalikview at Sector 17 and Parkview in Sector 24 — and other eateries at different places. Its outlets at Sukhna also do a brisk business.

CITCO has already leased out its two restaurants — Baithak at Kalagram and Drop In at Sector 34.

Jasvinder Kaur, Managing Director of CITCO, said Hotel Parkview had tied up with Zomato for selling its signature items to its customers and food lovers. CITCO is in the process of introducing the bakery section of Mountview and other hotels on Zomato. The process for a tie-up with Swiggy is underway.

Jasvinder Kaur said they entered a tie-up with a company, M/S Shoutlo, for selling buffets at Mountview and Shivalikview hotels.

In the recent past, the CITCO hotels have started improving financially. Sources said Mountview recorded a net profit of Rs 3.18 crore in 2018-19 in comparison to Rs 64.60 lakh it earned during the year 2017-18. The profit of Hotel Parkview was Rs 2.31 crore in 2018–19 against Rs 2.43 crore in the financial year 2017-18. Jasvinder Kaur said tie-ups with online companies would help CITCO improve its business.
