Ambala, October 10

Now, booking a train ticket will be a click away with the Ambala Division of the Northern Railways introducing a mobile application, “UTS on Mobile”. It will not only save your time but also spare you from visiting the ticket booking counter and wait in long queues. Booking a ticket through the mobile app will also be rewarding, with 5 per cent cashback on each ticket booked.

Disclosing this here today, a senior official of the Railways said the initiative was a part of the ongoing drive to digitise the public dealing, make transactions cashless, paperless and hassle-free.

To popularise the app and make passengers aware of the initiative, the Railways have launched special awareness drives at railway stations in Ambala, Chandigarh, Kalka, Patiala, Bathinda, Saharanpur, Yamunanagar, Jagadhari and Rajpura.

“The mobile app, which is available on Play Store and App Store for Android and Apple mobile phones, will be of much use and convenience to passengers during the ongoing festival season,” said the official, adding that hundreds of passengers today downloaded the mobile app during the awareness drive at several railway stations.
