Chandigarh, October 17

Several footlights at Rose Garden have not been working for the past several days, causing inconvenience to evening walkers and visitors.

Daily walkers at the garden said the footlights had not been working for the past 15 days. “We had approached senior officials, following which some of the footlights were fixed, but about 40 per cent of the lights are still non-functional.” “It is strange that footlights are not working in such famous garden, which is thronged by tourists every day. The Municipal Corporation should do the needful a on priority basis,” an elderly said. Officials concerned said they were in the process of fixing the lights. Meanwhile, MC’s chief engineer Manoj Bansal did not respond to calls. — TNS
