The body of Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Issapur village, who was washed away in the flooded choe near here on Sunday, is yet to be traced after over 24 hours. His body is now believed to have been swept further downstream.

The 42-year-old victim, Kuldeep Singh, along with his friend, was returning home from Bhankarpur when the incident took place. Kuldeep, who was riding the motorcycle, tried to cross the flooded choe. Half way across, he lost control and started sliding.

Villagers somehow managed to reach the vehicle that stuck in a rock, but failed to save Kuldeep.

Deepinder Singh Dhillon, PPCC, General Secretary, here on Monday also visited the spot where villagers apprised him of the problem being faced by them in every monsoon season. Dhillon assured them that their problem would be redressed soon.
