The city police have failed to make any headway in the murder of 22-year-old Abhishek Shukla. A salesman at a store at Elante Mall, Shukla was stabbed multiple times by unknown assailants near the poultry farm roundabout on the night of October 11. The police are yet to make any arrest in the case.
The victim, a resident of Hallo Majra, was returning home on foot when the incident took place. The police, calling it a blind murder, had said that the victim was stabbed multiple times in his chest and stomach. His wrist was also slit. The police then suspected that there were more than two assailants.
Inspector Devinder Singh, SHO, Industrial Area police station, said, “The investigation is on and no one has been rounded up yet.”
The victim kept lying on the road in a pool of blood till a PCR vehicle arrived. Shukla was bleeding profusely and was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim had two mobile phones, which were recovered by the police along with his purse. While the police suspected it to be a case of personal enmity, the family claimed that they did not have any rivalry with anyone. The victim is survived by his parents and three younger sisters. The family hails from Balrampur district in Uttar Pradesh. The police said efforts were on to identify the culprits. The police are investigating it keeping different angles in mind.
