No development in city during BJP rule: Babla

Congress councillor Devinder Singh Babla and Madhu Bansal, wife of Pawan Kumar Bansal, the Congress candidate from the city, today kicked off a door-to-door campaign in Sector 27-D here.

Babla said the BJP believed only in ‘jumlebazi’ and the development in the city had halted ever since the party rose to power at the Centre. The BJP proved to be a total failure for the city, he added.

Bansal promises better facilities for the elderly

Congress candidate Pawan Kumar Bansal today promised to provide better facilities for the senior citizens in the city. Interacting with a group of senior citizens on an evening stroll at Fragrance Garden in Sector 36 here, Bansal said if he was elected as MP for the fifth term, his agenda would be to incentivise people to look after their aged parents in the comfort of their own homes. Concession in annual house tax is one of the incentives he spelt out. Bansal said he would strive to get an advanced geriatric centre opened at the PGI on the lines of the advanced eye and cardiac centres.
