In one of the toilets in Sector 35D, lights have not been working for more than a week. Exhaust fan seems like it can fall any moment. The said toilet remains without water for months. A google app sticker has been pasted on the door just for mere show off. Not only this, the toilets are poorly lit. Besides, there is a deserted park along with the ladies’ toilet, which makes unsafe for women to use it. Verinder Singh

Tribune flyover, a blunder

It is heartening to see the Punjab & Haryana High Court intervened in the matter of axing of trees on Dakshin Marg and Purv Marg for enabling the start of construction activities for city's first ever flyover at Tribune chowk. Cutting old and well maintained trees on both sides of these roads, is nothing less than a criminal activity and so, it shouldn't be allowed at all. The construction of flyovers in the city is the beginning of the era of destroying the originality, beauty, aesthetics and above all environmental values of city beautiful. Chandigarh will also look like any other normal city of the country. The idea of constructing flyover in Chandigarh will be a blunder on the part of administration. —Sanjay Chopra
