Patiala resident dies in Zirakpur mishap

ZIRAKPUR: One person was killed while another sustained injuries when the car they were travelling in was allegedly hit by another car near Nabha Sahib Gurdwara on the Patiala-Zirakpur stretch here last night.

One person was killed while another sustained injuries when the car they were travelling in was allegedly hit by another car near Nabha Sahib Gurdwara on the Patiala-Zirakpur stretch here last night.

The deceased has been identified as Sunny Kumar and the injured as Devinder Kumar, both residents of Patiala district.

In his complaint to the police, Devinder stated they were going towards Chandigarh from Rajpura in their car when a car bearing a Delhi registration number hit their vehicle. He stated that Sunny, who was behind the wheel, lost control of the car, following which it fell into a ditch along the road. Devinder said his friend died on the spot.

A case has been registered against the car driver, who was later identified as Ajay Kumar of Haryana. —TNS
