A large part of government land has been lying unused for the past several years in parts of Sector 47-A, Chandigarh. Due to the non-maintenance of the area, wild grass has covered the area and is home to mosquitoes and mice. There is no footpath or boundary along the land, which makes it difficult for pedestrians to walk at night. The authorities concerned should take necessary action. — Vaibhav Goyal, Chandigarh

Fruit vendors a nuisance

Several unauthorised fruit vendors are perching on roads in Sector 9, Panchkula. This results in shortage of space for vehicles or even pedestrians. No traffic policeman is ever seen regulating the traffic or removing such unauthorised rehris from road. These vendors are not poor fellows but owners of four to five big-sized fruit 'rehris'. Why the civic bodies fails to take stern action against them. No flying squad has ever removed them from the scene or issued challans to them. Residents are just hapless creatures and the situation worsens in the festive season. — Baldev Raj, Panchkula

Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?
