242 passengers fined for travelling sans ticket

CHANDIGARH: The Ambala division of the Northern Railways today went on a ticket-checking spree. Officials penalised 242 passengers travelling without a ticket. They collected an amount of Rs 2,67,430 by penalising those travelling without the ticket and for various other violations.

The Ambala division of the Northern Railways today went on a ticket-checking spree. Officials penalised 242 passengers travelling without a ticket. They collected an amount of Rs 2,67,430 by penalising those travelling without the ticket and for various other violations.

Twenty people were fined for littering, while several catering units were inspected at Ambala, Rajpura and Yamunanagar, Jagadhri.

The excercise was carried out by Pankaj Gupta, ADRM (Operations), and Hari Mohan, DCM Ambala, at Saharanpur- Ambala and Ambala – Ludhiana, sections.

The trains that were inspected included 64523, 64511, 74646, 15708, 64502, 12919, 12497, 22429, 18216,12920, 12715, 18104, 11058, 64512, 54540 and 64522.
