Youths assault 3 in Sec 34 park

CHANDIGARH: A 20-year-old youth and his two friends were attacked with sticks and knife by a few unknown youths, who entered into an altercation with the victims at a park in Sector 34 last evening.

A 20-year-old youth and his two friends were attacked with sticks and knife by a few unknown youths, who entered into an altercation with the victims at a park in Sector 34 last evening.

According to the police, complainant Rakshit, a native of Karnal, who is taking coaching for NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) from an institute in Sector 34 reported that he, along with his two friends Abhishek and Harmandeep, was sitting in a park in Sector 34.

There were three youths sitting in the park, who were staring at them. The complainant asked them why they were staring following which the suspects entered into an altercation and threatened them.

They left the park and came back with their accomplices, who attacked the victims with sticks, rods and a knife. They then escaped from the spot.

The complainant and his friends were injured and admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32.

The police were informed, who registered a case of rioting and attempt to murder against unknown persons at the Sector 34 police station.
