2 inmates attack another prisoner inside Patiala jail

PATIALA:Just two months after an inmate was murdered inside a New Nabha jail, two inmates in Central Jail of Patiala attacked another prisoner on Friday evening.

Just two months after an inmate was murdered inside a New Nabha jail, two inmates in Central Jail of Patiala attacked another prisoner on Friday evening.

The victim has been identified as Bobby of Taffajalpura in Patiala. The accused have been identified as Navneet Singh of Kaithal district in Haryana and Narinder Singh of Mandod village of Patiala district. 

The officials informed that both the accused were undertrial in separate cases.

The police revealed that the duo attacked Bobby with a shovel on his leg when he was returning to his barrack from a canteen.

Bobby in his complaint to the police claimed that the duo was  annoyed with him as he was a friend of a person on whose complaint one of the accused was lodged in the jail.

The accused have been booked under Sections 323, 341, 506, 34 of the IPC. 

Investigating Officer informed that the complainant was hospitalised at Government Rajindra Hospital and was taken back to the hospital in jail after some treatment
