CHANDIGARH: Prof Yash Paul Sharma, Head, Department Cardiology, PGI, has been awarded with the Iconic Achievers Award by Iconic Achievers Council at a felicitation function held in Moscow, Russia, with a theme “Globalisation of Economic & Social Development”.

Prof Yash Paul Sharma, Head, Department Cardiology, PGI, has been awarded with the Iconic Achievers Award by Iconic Achievers Council at a felicitation function held in Moscow, Russia, with a theme “Globalisation of Economic & Social Development”.

Prof Yash Paul has been involved in several breakthroughs in the field of cardiology such as interventional cardiology, heart failure management, cyanotic congenital heart disease and rheumatic diseases.

Earlier, he was also awarded with the IBC Top 100 Scientists Award in 2015, Swami Vivekananda Excellence Award in 2013, Mother Teresa Shiromini Award in 2013, Indira Gandhi Priyadarshni Award in 2009, Punjab State Award in 2004, Bharat Gaurav in 2002, etc.

His research involves innovative and disruptive theories that have been patented and have wide impacts in transforming healthcare sector. — TNS
