Fashion designing students put up exhibition-cum-sale

CHANDIGARH: The Education Department organised a two-day exhibition-cum-sale of designer items prepared by Class XII students of Fashion Designing and Textile Designing of various government schools.

The Education Department organised a two-day exhibition-cum-sale of designer items prepared by Class XII students of Fashion Designing and Textile Designing of various government schools. The exhibition was inaugurated by Education Secretary BL Sharma at Kisan Bhawan, Sector 35.

The items displayed in the exhibition-cum-sale have been prepared by the students at the school workshop. Real work situation is created at the school workshop and the students work under the supervision of their teachers, creating designer items every day.

During these days, students put the skills of designing, cutting, tailoring and embroidery to practice and produce variety of items for various age groups.

Students of beauty and wellness skill course had put up stalls of herbal cosmetic learnt and prepared by them during on-job training, students of food production skill course had put up stalls of food items as well.

Approximately, 500 students from various schools offering fashion designing, textiles designing, food production and beauty and wellness skill courses participated in the event.
