An Army man was allegedly attacked by an unidentified person with a sharp weapon near Mama Bhanja Peer in Ambala Cantonment last evening.

The injured Army man has been identified as Naib Subedar Vinod Kumar (43), a resident of the Army Area, Ambala Cantonment.

In his complaint to the police, Vinod said he had two children. His minor daughter, a student of Class X, used to go to a park where a boy obtained her mobile number.

“My daughter told me about the boy. So I asked my children to not to go to the park again. Around 6:30 pm on Saturday, I got a call that the boy wanted to meet me. I met him near a government school and he told me that he lives in a quarter near the Air Force Station. When I reached near Mama Bhanja Peer, he attacked me with a sharp weapon on my back and fled from the spot,” he said.

Vinod was rushed to the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment. The Ambala police have registered a case against an unidentified person under Sections 323 and 324 of the IPC at the Ambala Cantonment police station.
