People fed up with BJP, pining for change, says Preneet

Former Union Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur today asked party leaders to jointly work for the party and start the election campaign for the Lok Sabha polls, the sources in party said.

Addressing her election rally in Lalru, she tore into Modi’s much-touted Gujarat “development model” and appealed to the people to reject the “divisive” ideology of the BJP as it was “bad” for the country. Preneet also lashed out at the Modi-led Central Government and said it had got into power by making fake promises of ‘acche din’. 

She stated that BJP failed to deliver any promises all these years and was now resorting to more ‘jumlebaazi’ in a desperate bid to win votes, adding that the people of India were fed -up with these hollow slogans and promises. They wanted to know what the BJP-led government had done for them in the past five years, Preneet further said.

Declaring the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) to be fully prepared for the LS polls, Preneet Kaur said she was confident that the party would win all the 13 seats in Punjab. The Congress was in a very strong position in the state, she said, reiterating her earlier stand that the party did not need any alliance  and would go alone in the state.

Preneet Kaur described herself to be fully prepared and geared to take on the opposition. “The Congress has worked for the development of Punjab and the people appreciate it,” she said.

Criticising demonetisation, Preneet said, “Modi had talked about bringing black money back to the country. But where is it black money now? The move only helped some industrialists and BJP leaders to turn their black money into white.”

Cong leader sure of landslide win

Preneet Kaur on Saturday asked party leaders to jointly work for the party and start the election campaign for the Lok Sabha polls. Declaring the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee to be fully prepared for the LS polls, Preneet Kaur said she was confident that the party would win all the 13 seats in Punjab.
