Bike theft suspects sent to judicial custody

KHARAR: The five suspects, who were arrested by the Ghauran police following the recovery of 10 stolen motorcycles, were remanded in judicial custody by a local court here today.

The five suspects, who were arrested by the Ghauran police following the recovery of 10 stolen motorcycles, were remanded in judicial custody by a local court here today.

SP (Investigation) Varun Sharma and Kharar DSP Deep Kamal said the Ghauran police had busted a gang of motorcycle thieves with the arrest of nine suspects following the recovery of 10 stolen motorcycles and a mobile phone from their possession.

They said out of them, four had already been remanded in judicial custody. The remaining five have been identified as Rajvir, Golu Kumar, Gursewak, Balwinder and Gurpreet Singh.

They said that all suspects were less than 21 years and they were Class X to XII pass.

They are from areas around Kharar. They would target the parking lot of Chandigarh University and steal bikes. They also used stolen bikes in snatching incidents. — TNS
