IAF off to a winning start

CHANDIGARH:Damanjit Singh scored a hat-trick as Indian Air Force (IAF) registered a 3-1 win over Sri Lankan Air Force in the opening match of the 2nd Marshal Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament at the 3BRD grounds here on Tuesday.

Damanjit Singh scored a hat-trick as Indian Air Force (IAF) registered a 3-1 win over Sri Lankan Air Force in the opening match of the 2nd Marshal Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament at the 3BRD grounds here on Tuesday. Lahlru Weerasoorlya scored the consolation goal for the visitors. 

In the second match of the day, Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, defeated Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) 6-2. Deepak, Ashwin Kujur and Sanjay Dhanush scored a brace each for ICF, while Harpreet Singh struck twice for CISF. 

Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Air Marshal RKS Shera, AOC-in-C, Maintenance Command.
