The local police carried out a special drive against the owners of immigration firms operating from various parts of the district. The police scanned records and other documents of more than 50 travel agents.

Harcharan Singh Bhullar, Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), said they had constituted various teams led by 20 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSPs) to raid and scan the records of travel agents.

The SSP said till now they had scanned the records of 50 travel agents. Action would be taken those who would be found guilty of running illegal immigration firms.
