The police registered a case in connection with illegal mining and arrested two persons here today. The police also seized loaded tractor-trailers. The suspects have been identified as Sunil Kumar and Rakesh Kumar.

According to the police, a naka was laid near Mor Thikri village here on Friday. Tractor-trailer drivers, who were coming from the Haryana side with a gravel-loaded trailer, were signalled to stop. The police said both drivers could not produce valid documents about the material loaded in their vehicle.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Mining Act at the Dera Bassi police station. Further probe is on, said the police.
