In a shocking incident, the Patiala police have arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly killing his father with a hammer on Tuesday evening.

In fact, the suspect, Pabhhjot Singh, reportedly, attacked his father mercilessly with a hammer in his (son) room.

Following the attack, the victim, Balkar Singh (65), was rushed to a hospital by other family members where doctors declared him brought dead.

The police said family members told them that the suspect was suffering from depression for the past two years. The police said they had arrested the suspect under Section 302 of the Indian Panel Code (IPC).

The incident took place around 6 pm when the victim went to his son’s room, said the police. According to sources, the suspect got angry with his father for sitting on his (son) computer chair and attacked him with the hammer.

The family members disclosed that the suspect was suffering from depression since he failed to complete his BTech over two years ago.
