MOHALI: The Balongi police today booked a man for raping his minor daughter at Daun village here.

The Balongi police today booked a man for raping his minor daughter at Daun village here.

The matter came to light when the victim, who was being chased by the accused, was rescued by village residents, who took her to the Balongi police station. The girl narrated her story to police officials following which her father, a property dealer was booked.

Kharar DSP Deep Kamal said the girl had reported that she had been repeatedly raped by her father during the past 18 months. She stated that her elder sister, aged 18, had been staying with her father while her mother was living separately.

He said they have booked the accused for rape.

Medical examination of the girl was conducted at the Civil Hospital, report of which is awaited.
