Prof gets Rs 25L project

CHANDIGARH:Dr Vijayta D Chadha, Chairperson of Centre for Nuclear Medicine, PU, has been awarded a project worth Rs 25 lakh by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for her work on prostate cancer imaging.

Dr Vijayta D Chadha, Chairperson of Centre for Nuclear Medicine, PU, has been awarded a project worth Rs 25 lakh by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for her work on prostate cancer imaging. 

The project involves the synthesis and evaluation of novel 5 alpha reductase inhibitor in radionuclide imaging and treatment of prostate cancer. Dr Neelima D Passi, an assistant professor in UIPS, PU, is the co-investigator in the project.

Earlier, Dr Chadha also received grants from CSIR, DST-SERB and UGC start up grant amounting to Rs 42 lakh, apart from several other distinctions and honours for her work. — TNS
