Improve Public transport

The Chandigarh Administration has been making plans and proposals for checking traffic woes in the City Beautiful, but no concrete steps have been taken so far. Over the years, various measures, such as car-free day, introduction of cycling, ban on diesel auto-rickshaws, widening and construction of slip roads and cycle tracks, have been undertaken to check traffic snarls. However, the only solution to the problem is developing public transport system. The UT Administration should purchase at least 500 hundred mini-buses for the city. SK Khosla, Chandigarh

The Administration should beef up security and install streetlights to avoid such heinous crimes. Slip roads also needs attention as far as security is concerned. Abhilasha Gupta, Mohali
