Chandigarh, July 15
As part of their Swachh Bharat Summer Internship programme, NCC air wing cadets of Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh, undertook a cleanliness drive along with villagers and panchayat members at Behlana village on Sunday.
The cadets started their drive by clearing the area around the pump house of the village and planting trees at the site. They cleaned up the village cremation ground and planted 11 saplings of trees which are known for its health benefits.
Dev Raj Sharma, a local panchayat member, thanked the nodal officer, Dr Rakesh Thakur, and the cadets for working with zeal and determination to spread awareness about various forms of cleanliness and healthy sanitation practice. — TNS
