National meet on engg research

Consistent with the important role of academic engineering research in the advancement and diffusion of the engineering knowledge base and the training of engineers, substantial increases are needed in the level of support for academic engineering research, said Dr Surinder Singh, Director of the Semi Conductor Laboratory, Mohali, at the Sixth National Conference on Engineering Research & Applications (ERA-2019) here on Saturday.

The conference was organised by the University School of Engineering and Technology at the Rayat Bahra University. Dr Praveen Kumar Khosla, Executive Director of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Mohali, said the conference would be a landmark for a gamut of activities that would mark their presence across the boundaries of the corporate and academic world.

Vikas Issar, Director, Acclivous Technologies Private Limited, and Dr Rajesh Goyal, Dean, National Institute of Construction Management and Research, were the key speakers. — TNS
