National award for two Bhavan teachers

CHANDIGARH: Two city schoolteachers will be honoured by President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday in New Delhi. Both teachers belong to Bhavan Vidyalaya in the city. Vineeta Arora will be given the National Award for Teachers.

Two city schoolteachers will be honoured by President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday in New Delhi. Both teachers belong to Bhavan Vidyalaya in the city.  Vineeta Arora will be given the National Award for Teachers. Arora has over 29 years of experience and has won many awards in the past, including the coveted CBSE Award for Teachers-2014.

Arora did her schooling from Bombay but later shifted to Chandigarh for further studies. She teaches commerce. “This year has been heartening. In the commerce stream across India, we have produced first 50 toppers, except the rank 22. Among first seven toppers in the country across all streams, four were from our school,” she said. 

Another teacher, Soma Mukhopadhyay, will receive the national award for using the information and communication technology for innovation in sSoma  did her schooling from Dhanbad. She did Botany (Honours) from the University of Calcutta. — TNS
