Naman shines for Strawberry Fields

Naman produced a stellar performance to help Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, win both their matches in the ongoing 19th Inter-School Basketball Tournament for the Emily Memorial Trophy, here today. 

Naman first gathered 26 points to see his side through in a closely contested tie against St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, and then played a pivotal role in his team’s triumph over St John’s High School, Sector 26. 

While in the first match, Strawberry Fields pipped St Xavier’s 49-48, in the second match, the side overcame St John’s 48-47, with Naman scoring crucial 14 points for his team.    

In another boys’ U-18 competition match, St Peter’s School, Sector 37, recorded a 31-26 win over St John’s boys. Abhinandan (14 points) and Vansh (nine points) added 23 points to the St Peter’s tally. Anhad (12 points) was the top scorer for St John’s. 

In the last league match of the U-18 category, St Xavier’s School humbled St Peter’s School 33-22. Power forward Aryan netted 16 points for St Xavier’s. Pawitter gathered 11 points for St Peter’s.

Meanwhile, St Xavier’s School won both their matches in the boys’ U-12 category. The side got the better of Ashiana Public School, Sector 46, in their opening match of the day, while in their second match, they registered a 21-14 win over Saupin’s School, Sector 32. 

Kartik scored eight points for St Xavier’s, while Saket Shan picked four points for Saupin’s School. 

Saupin’s School also went down 7-27 to St John’s School. Edwin (10 points) was the lead scorer for St John’s. 

In their second match of the day, St John’s defeated Ashiana Public School 31-14. Edwin once again proved to be the star performer for St John’s, gathering 16 points. Ranveer scored eight points for Ashiana School.
