Mohali, November 8

Most of the leading private schools here have decided to go by the Punjab Government’s decision of keeping schools across the state closed for three days from tomorrow in view of smog.

The managements of Yadwindra Public School, Doon International School, Learning Paths School, Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Gian Jyoti Public School and St Soldier International School have decided to keep their institutes shut on the three days.

Manjit Madra, Principal, Doon School, said, “As our annual function is on the cards, students participating in the function have been asked to come to school for preparation at 10 am. They will leave at 2 pm.”

Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra said all schools have to be closed for three days from tomorrow. “I would ensure that there would be no violation in this regard as risk factors are very high due to smog here,” she said.
