More trouble for AAP in city

Trouble seems to be increasing for the AAP candidate for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat as four days after six office-bearers resigned from the party, some AAP youth wing members have taken a decision to quit the party.

The AAP members who have conveyed their decision to the party high command in Delhi include Ankit Nautiyal, president, youth wing (South), Balwinder Singh, Deepak Sharma, Kamal, Anuj, Jagjit Singh, president, Ward No. 22, Inder Kumar, general secretary, Ward No. 22, Mandeep Singh, Satinder Singh, Gursharan Singh, Amandeep, Ankur Gupta, Asha Parveen, president, women wing, Ward No. 22, Neetu Pun, secretary, women wing, Ward No. 22, Kanchna Bala and Manju Sharma.

The youth wing members have blamed the style of working and humiliation by the party candidate and the party convenor in Chandigarh. AAP convenor Prem Garg said he had never met any of these persons and he was not aware of any AAP such members in Chandigarh.

Mass mobilisation activities

Chandigarh: The Election Commission, Chandigarh, has decided to start major mass mobilisation activities to encourage people to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme. A meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Electoral Officer Mandip Singh Brar with the head of departments and officials to discuss SVEEP activities undertaken by them under the programme.

Chhabra slams BJP

Chandigarh: In the past five years, Chandigarh has turned from good to worse, beautiful to ugly and is slowly heading towards losing the tag of the City Beautiful. This was stated by city Congress president Pradeep Chhabra during a discussion on ‘Sachai Par Charcha’ organised on Facebook by the Youth Congress. When former Union Minister Pawan Bansal represented the city, Chandigarh used to have surplus budget. But in the past five years, the budget of the city was being cut regularly, said Chhabra.
