A month after a 15-year-old boy went missing from Phase X here, the police are yet to trace him.

The police said the boy, Suraj, had gone missing on January 21. On the complaint of his father, Ashok Kumar, a complaint was registered under Section 365 of the IPC on January 30.

The police said according to his family, the boy, a student of government school in Phase X, had left the house at 5.30 am claiming that he was going to school, but he did not return.

The police said it was later found that he had also taken Rs 3,000 and some clothes with him in a bag.

The investigating officer said: “The boy was reprimanded by the school principal after he was caught with a mobile phone, following which he was scolded by his parents. We have checked with some family relatives in Rae Bareilly (UP) and he will be traced soon.” — TNS
