A local court has granted bail to a resident of Mohali in two snatching cases. On August 23, an FIR under Sections 379 and 356 of the IPC was registered against Sandeep Sahi at the Sector 39 police station on the complainant of Kulwinder Kaur (28), a resident of Badheri village.

She alleged that she was sitting with her child at a park near Government School, Sector 41-C. In the meantime, a boy snatched her purse and sped away on a motorcycle with another boy. The purse contained two mobile phones and Rs 400.

Another case was registered against Sandeep on July 13 under Sections 379 and 356 of the IPC at the Sector 39 police station on the complaint of Anoop Kumar Mahajan (53), a resident of Sector 41-B.

He alleged that when he was cleaning his car parked outside his house around noon on Sunday, two boys came on a motorcycle and snatched his gold chain. The police arrested both the suspects. Advocate Swaraj Arora said Sandeep, a resident of Mohali, was granted bail after furnishing bail bonds of Rs 70,000 in each case. — TNS
