Chandigarh, May 24

A Mohali resident lost his mobile phone, wallet and scooter keys to two motorcycle-borne snatchers on Thursday morning. Ajay, a Mohali resident, who works at a taxi stand, had come to Sector 49 to meet a relative. Around 11 am, he was near the Sector 48/49 roundabout when two men approached him on a black motorcycle.

The duo was wearing helmets and enquired if there was an ATM nearby. As Ajay started explaining the route to the ATM, the pillion rider got down and snatched his phone from his shirt pocket, his wallet from his back pocket along with the keys of his Activa scooter. Stranded there, Ajay called up a friend from a passerby’s phone, who then approached the police. Jaswinder Kaur, SHO, Sector 49 police station, said they are looking into the matter.—TNS
