Misuse of staff for personal work: DEO submits report to DSE

CHANDIGARH: The District Education Officer (DEO) submitted a report to the Director, School Education (DSE), Chandigarh, a day after it was found that five Class IV employees were absent while their attendance was marked in school records during a raid conducted on Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23.

The District Education Officer (DEO) submitted a report to the Director, School Education (DSE), Chandigarh, a day after it was found that five Class IV employees were absent while their attendance was marked in school records during a raid conducted on Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23.

These employees had been allegedly forced by school principal Chitranjan Singh to toil on his personal agricultural land. The principal, however, denied the allegations.

The report submitted by DEO Anujit Kaur has written statements of the school principal and Class IV employees. DSE Rubinderjit Singh Brar said he was yet to examine the report.

The case

Class IV staff of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23 had been allegedly forced by the school principal to toil on his personal agricultural land.
