A seven-year-old boy of Kalka, who was missing since Saturday, was found dead in an underground water tank at his house.

According to the police, Kunal, alias Sonu, had gone missing on Saturday. His father, Ashok, had lodged a complaint with the police about his missing son. On Monday night, when Ashok opened the cover of the underground water tank, Sonu’s body was lying there. The family was using water from the underground tank, but nobody noticed any foul smell.

The SHO of the Kalka police station, Suresh, said the victim’s postmortem was not conducted today as water inside his body had converted into ice as the body was kept in a deep freezer. The postmortem would now be conducted tomorrow, he said.
