Minor girl goes missing, kin allege abduction

Zirakpur, February 22

A minor girl went missing from Zirakpur on Wednesday. Her family members apprehended that she might have been abducted by someone who wanted to marry her.

The victim, a student of Class VIII at a government school, had gone to school but did not return home, her father Biru Shah, who works as a labourer, stated in his complaint to the police.

He family searched for her and even contacted their relatives but their efforts proved futile.

The victim’s father alleged that some unidentified person was involved in her abduction.He stated that the accused might have lured her on the pretext of marriage.

On the basis of the statement of the victim’s father, the Zirakpur police had registered a case under Sections 363 and 366-A of the Indian Penal Code against an unidentified person and started investigations.
