Mohali, October 17

Mohali Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra on Wednesday said, “DAPO and Buddy programme to make the district drug freewould be carried out in an efficient manner.”

Sapra said this at a meeting of local administrative and police officials at Mohali Administrative Complex, Sector 76, here.

Sapra asked all SDMs to prepare a calendar for the training of all Cluster Coordinator Monitoring Committees and DAPO by master trainers so that the training programme could be carried out in an efficient manner.

She also directed the officials to chalk out a strategy to make people aware of the ill-effects of drugs at ward level  in rural and urban areas.

Sapra said nodal officers — Mohali Additional Deputy Commissioner, Charandev Singh Mann, and SP (H) Gursewak Singh Brar — appointed for the DAPO programme in the district would hold meetings in this regard at sub-divisional level, while the SDMs would hold a meeting with all educational institutes to make maximum presence of students in the Buddy programme.

Sapra said fresh registration for appointing more DAPOs in the district would start soon. The DC also directed to put up the Buddy activities on WhatsApp groups which were being carried out in educational institutions.
