A local court has directed the GMCH, Sector 32, to form a medical board in the abortion plea filed by the mother of a 15-year-old rape victim. The girl is 24 weeks pregnant and her mother had moved the plea in the court on Tuesday. The court has also directed the investigating officer of the case to submit a consolidated report in the court.

The case has now been marked to the juvenile court as the accused is also a minor. The girl was allegedly raped multiple times over a period spanning a few months. After the rape survivor’s parents recorded their statements and she was medically examined, the juvenile was arrested and sent to a juvenile home.

According to the complaint, the parents of the minor girl alleged that the boy lived in their neighbourhood a few years ago and knew them. The girl stated that the accused’s mother was not alive and when his father would go to work, the accused would take her to his house and rape her.
