MC to provide job to suicide victim’s son

CHANDIGARH:The local Municipal Corporation has decided to provide a job to the son of Jaspal, an employee of its enforcement wing who reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Sector 19 yesterday.

The local Municipal Corporation has decided to  provide a job to the son of  Jaspal, an employee of its enforcement wing who  reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Sector 19 yesterday. Mayor Rajesh Kalia  and  senior officers of the MC today visited his house and met family members of the  deceased  employee.  

The Mayor  said all possible  help would be  provided to the  family  members,   besides  providing a job  to the son  of the  employee through outsourcing.

Body handed over to kin after autopsy

The autopsy of the 49-year-old MC employee, Jaspal, was conducted today. 

The victim had left a suicide note in which he had accused a senior MC official and a sub-inspector of the enforcement wing of harassing him. 

The police said the autopsy was conducted at the GMSH-16 here, following which the body was handed over to the victim’s family. 


Suicide note had blamed officials  

The victim, Jaspal, had named a senior MC official and a sub-inspector of the enforcement wing in the suicide note, written on March 16.
