Patiala, December 11

The triangular contest for the forthcoming Municipal Corporation poll has heated up the election campaign in Patiala.

From going door to door, making personal calls and messages, deputing supporters on roads and using social media, candidates are exploring all options to reach out to the masses.

The new entrant in the MC poll, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has further increased competition for the Congress and the SAD-BJP, the traditional rival parties.

All parties have positioned their supporters and party activists at strategic locations across wards to hoist party flags.

While these activists are divided on party lines but they can be seen standing together at various places with respective party flags in their hands. Now, with less than a week left for the election campaign to come to an end, the atmosphere in Patiala has become all the more electrifying with these supporters trying to supersede their opponents for more visibility.

However, the fact remains that Congress workers seems to be the most enthusiastic lot considering that the party is in power in the state. The unopposed victory of three of their candidates has further boosted their morale.
