Ambala, September 11

After a gap of over one year, the Naraingarh Municipal Committee’s House meeting was held today. Various development and maintenance works had taken a back seat in Naraingarh.

Nine of the 15 councillors had been protesting at the Naraingarh SDM office for the last 10 days. After the meet, the councillors ended their agitation.

It is pertinent to mention that the post of chairman in the civic body got vacant in November 2017 following a motion of no-confidence. On the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, election to the post of chairman was held on May 26 last year. Shrawan Kumar was elected new chairman. He said, “Nearly 300 building plans are pending for approval, besides tenders for maintenance of parks, street lights, garbage collection and sanitation work are also pending.” — TNS
