MC Commissioner inspects gaushalas

CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Municipal Commissioner KK Yadav on Saturday inspected gaushalas in the city. He was accompanied by Dr Saurabh Mishra, Additional Commissioner, Dr Pardeep Vasesi, MOH, Dr MS Kamboj, Superintendent, Slaughter House, and officials concerned.

Chandigarh Municipal Commissioner KK Yadav on Saturday inspected gaushalas in the city. He was accompanied by Dr Saurabh Mishra, Additional Commissioner, Dr Pardeep Vasesi, MOH, Dr MS Kamboj, Superintendent, Slaughter House, and officials concerned.

During the visit, the team inspected the Maloya gaushala to see the management aspect being done by Shirdi Sai Samaj. The president and other committee members apprised the Commissioner and team members of the working and operational system carried out by them.

Later, the team visited the Sector 45 gaushala being managed by Gauri Shankar Sewa Dal and took stock of the management system of cows. The Commissioner inspected different sections of the cattle pond in the Industrial Area, Phase I. Stray cattle are kept at the cattle pond after being impounded from the city. He instructed the MC Engineering Department to carry out necessary repair work inside the compound on a priority basis.

The Commissioner also inspected sanitary conditions, especially removal of wild growth from road berms, in southern sectors being maintained by Lions Company. The Commissioner directed the officials of the company to provide roster/schedule of programme for grass cutting/removal in writing for rechecking of the same.

Earlier, the Commissioner also inspected working of a biogas plant for hotel and vegetable waste in the Industrial Area, Phase I, and asked the officials concerned for proper maintenance and upkeep of the plant and internal area of the compound.

The Commissioner also inspected the work of kerb channels in the Industrial Area, Phase I, and appreciated the efforts of the officials.
